The terrace-style hotel located in a coastal bay, surrounded by lemon and olive trees, is situated directly on the steep coast in one of the narrow, car free alleys below Piazza S. Gennaro in Praiano.
The former fishing village of Praiano is located in the heart of the Amalfi coast, embedded between Positano and Amalfi and has mainly still escaped the onrush of day trippers. The name of the hotel “Bella Vista” – i.e. “beautiful view” – keeps this promise. In front of this amazing scenery not only romantics start to rave.
All of the 20 sunny rooms with sea view are designed in different colours.
The well-tended 3-bedroom we have chosen for you offers a double bed and a single bed, as well as TV, air condition and fan.
The bathroom is equipped with hair dryer and shower or bath tub/bidet/WC.
On your private balcony you will experience marvellous sunsets with view upon the Amalfi coast, Capri and the archipelago of “Li Galli”.
Not even when dining do you have to abstain from this panorama. In good weather you may have your meals on the sea-view terrace beneath the open sky. As the saying goes: “Appetite comes through the eyes” – and twofold in this case. The delicious dinner is served in front of a splendid scenery.
On the top floor you find the sun terrace. On sun beds you may loll in the sun or relax beneath the shade of an umbrella.
Those who want to either learn Italian or improve their knowledge of the language will find a teacher on site: The owner of the hotel, Signor Adele, will gladly give you lessons in the italian language (25 Euros/hour).
By means of a foot path you reach theseaside bathing area in about 5 minutes near the Saracen tower. Do not be surprised if a mule with heavy load crosses your road on the way. The paths are too narrow for cars or motorbikes and therefore one falls back onto the well-tried and depends on the help of animals.
At the foot of the steep coast you are awaited by crystal-clear water.
The private hotel boat takes you directly to the “Grotta dello Smeraldo” or even to Capri. Those who rather wish to spend a day on the beach, may rent sun beds and umbrellas. Refreshment is provided by the bar with cool drinks.
Further bathing bays in the near surroundings are „Marina di Praia“ (1 km) or „La Cala della Gavitella“, the only beach on the Amalfi coast which is illuminated by sun until sunset.
From Praiano you may make various interesting excursions. Anyone fearing the drive along the twisting road may also get along very well with the public transportation system, the SITA buses or the Metro del Mare (during the summer months). >> Further information and timetables
Amalfi (9 km) is probably the most popular town on the coast of the same name. Not much is really known about the origin of Amalfi, yet there are theories that the place was founded by Romans in the 4th century AD.
In the 9th century Amalfi became one of the leading towns in Italy and the first of the four sea republics.
The glamour of Amalfi today has not yet faded and attracts many tourists. Apart from the typical architecture it is the enchanting location, which distinguishes Amalfi.
Positano (6 km) to the ease was discovered by artitsts in the 20ies of the 19th century and is still a popular destination for stars and starlets.
Positano is also the end of the most famous hiking trail of the coast, the so-called ”Sentiero degli Dei”. The seaside town is also a good starting point for further hiking tours.
From Positano as well as from Amalfi there are ferry connections to Capri or Salerno.
