Casa Carlo - Holiday apartment at Amalfi

Apartment with roof terrace in 19th century building 

It dates from the second half of the 19th century and lies hidden in an inner courtyard – the building which today houses holiday apartment Casa Carlo. Its characteristic cupola ceiling and extraordinary, typically regional architecture tell you at once that you are right in the heart of the Amalfi Coast.

Vettica is part of the comune of Amalfi, ca. 2.5 km from the picturesque center of the former maritime republic and easy to reach by bus. With a bus stop only 50 m off, you do not really need a car during your holidays.

Another goody you can look forward to is Casa Carlo's spacious roof terrace, which opens upon an uninhibited view of the sea and the bizarre coastal formations. Don't hesitate – spend your holidays in the southern Italian sun.

Holiday apartment with marvelous sea view

Casa Carlo is a wonderful accommodation for two, but also for a family of four. It includes two bedrooms, a spacious living-dining room with kitchen and a bathroom with shower cabin/WC/bidet. 

You enter Casa Carlo into the dining area, which is furnished with air conditioning and offers access of the roof terrace. Part of the outdoor area is roofed with a kind of pergola, so simply relax in its shade and let the view of the sea "wash over" you. There is also a lovely outdoor dining 'area' with large wrought-iron table and chairs. Sun worshippers can relax on the loungers.

The kitchen, dining and living areas are connected by large, arched openings. Furnishing of the kitchen includes gas stove and oven, fridge-freezer and washing machine; furnishing of the small living area includes a small sofa, wicker chairs and TV. Casa Carlo features WiFi.

From the two sea-facing bedrooms, ona a double and one a twin with access of the terace, you can take in the deep blue of the sea first thing in the morning.

A children's bed for very young guests can be provided. Enclosed, chargeable parking (see 'Pricing') is available across from Casa Carlo, but prior reservation is required.

Further information, tips & excursions

In the immediate vicinity of Casa Carlo lies bus stop "Torre Vettica". SITA busses run to Amalfi and Agerola/Pogerola at regular intervals. From the bus terminal at Amalfi, coastal 'celebrities' such as Positano, Ravello and Sorrento are easily and quickly reached. From Amalfi's harbor boats depart for Capri every day and, in summer, even for the Cilento (Agropoli).

A supermarket is about 500 m from Casa Carlo. A bar and restaurants are also nearby, partly within walking distance. It is ca. 600 m along a stepped path to Ristorante Al Pesce d’Oro.

Casa Carlo is very conveniently located regarding all kinds of excursions. Strolling through lively, colorful Amalfi or glamorous Positano is surely worth your while.

About 1 km off lie the beach bays of Lido degli Artisti and Santa Croce with its famous Arco degli Innamorati, a rock arch formed by the sea and dedicated to those in love. Please mind that some of the beaches are accessible only on foot via stepped paths.

Another highlight of the Amalfi Coast starts at nearby Agerola. High above the sea, Sentiero degli Dei, the Path of Gods, overwhelms you with spectacular vistas. The ca. 8 km hiking trail runs as far as Positano. Take the bus or the boat back to Amalfi and let the day fade away with a chilled limoncello in hand on the charming terrace of Casa Carlo.
