The most uncomplicated way to reach the Amalfi coast by train is to take the night train to Rome and further to Naples/Salerno or, if you want to bring your own car, the auto train. This way, you will travel comfortably overnight for about 16 hours from Munich to the region Campania. Breakfast is already included in the ticket prices for sleeping cars.
Coming from the southern German region, the route across the Brenner Highway E45/A22 is recommended until Modena; take the A1 to Naples from there, continue on the A3 in the direction of Salerno until you reach the desired exit and drive on country roads to your destination.
For guests from the north or west, the route through Switzerland may be reasonable – via Schaffhausen, Zurich, Milan and Bologna to Naples.
For an exact road map, we recommend the web site of
www.viamichelin.com.

The emissions of one passenger on the outward flight from "London - Heathrow" to "Naples" and return create the climate impact of about 840 kg CO2, from New York about 4780 kg CO2.
You can save this amount of CO2 in an atmosfair climate project for 20,00 Euro respective 111,00 Euro and receive an atmosfair certificate.

In the summer months, the Metrò del Mare connects the towns in the entire Gulf region and via Salerno all the way to the Cilento. Current timetables can be found in the daily newspapers and on
www.metrodelmare.net.

The line operation along the Amalfi Coast and on the Sorrento peninsula is organised very well. There are several daily connections from/to Naples, Sorrento and Salerno. During the day, busses frequently serve the different coastal villages with Amalfi as the main hub. Timetable can be obtained in tabacchi stores, café bars or newsstands.
Following, you will find links to useful bus connections and schedules:
Bus connections from Naples-Capodichino airport to Salerno
SITA-bus connections to Massa Lubrense, Minori, Pompeii, Positano, Praiano, Sorrento, Vietri Sul Mare, etc.
Survey of all SITA-bus connections in Campania, e.g. to Agerola and Furore
Those travelling to Raito or Albori will first take the above mentioned SITA-bus to Vietri Sul Mare and then change to No. 1 (to Raito) or No. 68 (to Albori) of the CSTP-busses.

On www.insulatransfer.com you can book transfers from Rome and Naples' airports, Naples' railway stations to Ischia, Capri, Procida, Sorrento and the Amalfi Coast.
On the islands of Capri and Ischia we also recommend the public means of transportation. At times it is not allowed to bring your own vehicle to the islands.
A particularity on the Gulf of Naples is the Ferrovia Circumvesuviana: the suburban commuter railway serves the route Naples-Sorrento every 30 minutes with stops at Portici, Ercolano, Pompeii and Torre Annunziata. A second line in the north goes around Mount Vesuvius. Current timetables can be found in the daily newspapers and on
www.vesuviana.it.
