The weather god seems to be fond of Forio: the community on Ischia’s west coast belongs to the sunniest stretches of the island. The pretty harbour village is also called the“city of churches and towers“. Baroque chapels and watchtowers from the 15th and 16th century shape the look of the village with its picturesque old centre.
Kilometres of sandy beaches, thermal springs, one of the most beautiful public gardens in Italy “La Mortella” and the well-tended thermal park Poseidon promise carefree bathing fun and revitalizing relaxation.

Hotel San Vito is situated at the boundaries of Forio, with view of the sea and Monte Epomeo in the hinterland. An informal atmosphere and a very friendly service are the hallmarks of the hotel… as well as its ideal location: On a footpath the nearest sandy beach is reached within only ca. 200 m. After ca. 700 m you find yourself in the alleys of Forio’s centro storico.
The large pool is fed with thermal water and offers enough possibilities in its circumference to enjoy the warm rays of the sun on sun beds. On cooler days, guests nay use the roofed thermal pool.
The 32 guest rooms of the hotel are simple, but well-tended. Air condition, satellite TV and telephone are standard equipment. Your bathroom offers shower or bath tub/bidet/WC.

The guest room we have chosen for you also has a balcony, on which at night you can reflect on the day while listening to the chirp of crickets.
In Hotel San Vito, Ischia’s famously delicious island cuisine is expecting you. You chose in each case from two primi, secondi, side dishes and desserts. A large salad buffet with antipasti completes the menu. For breakfast, you also serve yourself from the buffet.
In the ample lounge of the hotel you may read in your travel guide on the couch, watch the daily news on television or just small talk with other guests. You may park your car on the hotel grounds. The nearest bus station is located ca. 100 m from the hotel. It is generally recommended to use the means of public transportation, due to the very well-organized bus network.

Our special recommendation: Ischia is also called the “green island“. In search of experienced hiking guides, who will show our guests trails aside from the tourist paths, we met Biagio Mazzella and Giovanna di Rosa.
Both are passionate islanders and will show you with much dedication, heartiness and a good portion of humour Ischia’s nature, as well as the lifestyle, cuisine and tradition. They offer not only guided hiking tours into the hinterland, but also tours at sea - culinary excursions into Ischia’s cuisine included! Biagio and Giovanna speak English. If you are interested in their offer, please do not hesitate to ask us!
