Italy’s poetry loves to dwell in mystic colours whenever describing the natural and man-made beauties of the Amalfi coast. Equally, our senses are overwhelmed at the sight of the enchanting coastal landscape around the Locanda Costa Diva in Praiano.
The restored country mansion from the 18th century, an “antica casa colonica”, is embedded into a lemon grove sloping in terraces towards the sea.
The rooms we have chosen for you have a terrace “a picco sul mare”, upon which one gets the feeling of diving into the blue of the sea.
Relax your mind in the Mediterranean splendour in and around the 7,000 sqm lemon grove, which is at the free disposal of the guests. From the hotel, a beautiful 400 m walking trail leads along the coast to the picturesque fishing village of Marina di Praia with its small sandy beach bay.
The family-led Locanda Costa Diva has 14 double rooms, 4 superior rooms and 2 junior suites. The standard equipment of all rooms includes air conditioning, mini bar, satellite TV, telephone, internet access (modem) and hair dryer.
You can have your meals either in the sheltered pergola or on the lemon terrace with sea view, just as you like. A special experience is to wrap up the day under nightly lighting in this ambience.
In the middle between Positano and Amalfi, the sunny town of Praiano is located strategically ideal for the exploration of cultural sights of the Amalfi coast and its surroundings.
Apart from the world-famous highlights of Amalfi, Capri, Pompeii, Ravello and Sorrento, also a visit off the beaten tourist tracks is worthwhile.
That way you may take part in the typical Italian village life in the alleys and on the piazzas of Praiano and the neighbouring village of Vettica Maggiore.

Only a stone’s throw from Praiano, scenic beauties like the Fiordo del Furore, a natural harbour, which served as scenery for numerous motion pictures. Roberto Rosselini, for example, shot two films with Anna Magnani at this wild-romantic location. The Grotta dello Smeraldo – a sea grotto near Conca dei Marini – fascinates with its spectacular stalagmite formations.
Very well signposted hiking trails leave nothing to be desired for the active vacationer. From Praiano, for example, a connecting trail leads to one of the most beautiful altitude tracks of the Amalfi coast, to the Trail of the Gods – the “Sentiero degli Dei”.
